Very busy week!

Whew! This week is almost over! It's been BUSY! (I'm going to be putting the last several days worth of info in one post tonight.. yeah, the week has been that busy.. lol)

Monday came along and the electrician was on-site, putting up the light fixtures. We dropped them off at the site Sunday night so he could start right away. When we got there Monday evening they were all up (not all of them had light bulbs in them yet tho).

Joe had put up scaffolding so that the decorator (Debbie) could put up some of the decor for the Parade that is up higher....

The landscaper was out and dug the trenches for me to lay the drain pipes that will take the water from some of the front downspouts out to the ditch so it's not running across the lawn all the time..

...so I was out there until it got dark, laying about 140 feet of drain pipe so that when the landscaper showed up on Wednesday he could backfill the trenches and install the lawn.

While the landscape crew was working all day outside, the flooring installers began installing the carpeting.

Also outside, the gutters were finally being installed as well. They were supposed to hit the 3 drain pipes I'd laid with three downspouts...... unfortunately, they didn't do this. So they're going to have to come back out to redo one of them and the builder will fix the other two.

While all of that was going on on Wednesday, I'd taken the day off to also be at the site doing landscaping too. I had mulch to move, dirt to level, landscape edging to install, and a few areas in the back yard to put down grass seed and fertilizer.

Today (Thursday) the flooring installers were hard at work finishing up all the carpeting installations.....

Pretty much the only thing that is scheduled to go on tomorrow is that the rest of the appliances will be arriving later in the day.
Robin and I have alot to do over the weekend in preparation for the Parade the following weekend. We have mirrors to hang, things to plant outside, I have to finish spreading the mulch/wood chips pile in the back yard, and several other things.
The cleaners will show up and clean the house from top to bottom on Saturday and Sunday.

Then on Monday, the painters come back thru and do any last touch up work, the carpenter still has a couple details to finish up, and the inspector will come thru to do a final inspection of the house.

In the mean time, I'm hoping it keeps raining more often now that our lawn is installed and craving water.. otherwise I'm out there twice a day moving sprinklers! lol!

It's getting close now....!

The last few days have seen more and more items getting completed or closer to it!

The carpenter has been on-site this week, as has the painting crew, and the mason.

The painters have the job of not only touching up wall paint, but also staining the window frames, etc.

Also, the carpenter has been busy on and off this week too. Much of his effort has been focused on building the shelving in the closets... and the pantry.

He also installed the crown moulding up in the master bedroom ceiling tray too!

The mason came to the house on Thursday and built the fireplace in one day....! (and it turned out pretty slick!)

On Saturday a friend of Robin's came over and put up some decor in the living room nooks. Jen and Brian do this sort of stuff as a side job/hobby... it looks pretty good!

Some more photos of things that have gone on the last few days.....

The driveway and sidewalk are done and curing... by Monday we'll be able to drive on the driveway.
I'm in the process (today in fact) of filling the area between the sidewalk, driveway, and porch with black dirt before the lawn gets installed (early this week maybe if there's no more rain).

The kitchen faucet was installed too.... with the sink, countertops, and now stained window woodwork I think it all turned out very nice.

Also, the master bathroom shower is now complete... well, other than the shower door, which should arrive last this week or the following week hopefully.

This week is scheduled to bring someone out to the site who hasn't been there before;  the cleaning crew!
They're scheduled to be there this week to do a massive job of cleaning up the entire house in preparation for the carpeting to be installed. The carpeting could be installed as early as the end of this week!
The carpenter has things to finish up this week before then, as does the painter. Also, the electrician was on vacation all last week, so tonight Robin and I have to get all the light fixtures to the house so he can begin installing them this week. At some point early this week (I would think) the builder has to get insulation blown into the attic spaces, and the gutters have to be installed.

...and depending on when the weather allows for it, the lawn will be installed some time this week as well. That will kick off alot of running around for me making sure it all gets watered regularly.

I spent alot of time yesterday spreading the wood chips from the large pile in the back yard around areas that won't be part of the grass seeded areas and have a bit more to do today, along with moving that dirt that I mentioned earlier...

It's only about a week until the final inspection date, and less than two weeks until the start of the Parade of Homes!

EDIT: We've come so far and it's been so hectic at times that I found myself a bit nostalgic... so here's a few pics of where all of this started back just over three years ago....

3 years??

(see our initial "Welcome" post here from three years ago for the beginning of it all.. "Welcome" link )
